Pops, it’s hard to believe that a quarter century has passed since we met and shared so many memorable events and gatherings. I will never forget traveling to Washington State with David and Danielle as toddlers, where our luggage was lost. Good thing there was a thrift store so that we could buy clothes and diapers. The best part of the trip was getting together with everyone and meeting the rest of the Albertson clan. I loved picking wild flowers with Lisa and listening to guitar by the campfire. The drive to the beach, through Hoquiam and to the little plot of land left to the family in Squim really gave me a sense of heritage and family ties. There was also another time that you drove Orrie and me through Washington University, where you pursued your education, your dreams for success, building a future and a family. I think this is what I have always admired and respected most about you in the years we have shared. The effort, strength and motivation that you put forth in becoming a great man for yourself and your family. To say that you are accomplished would actually be an understatement as your skills are world renowned! You left your mark on the world, improving processes and designs to help others. Even through the awards and plaques, you never missed sending a birthday card to Orrie, myself, and your grandchildren. We have shared milestones, holidays, reunions, some great wine, good meals, and mostly just enjoyed being in each other’s company. I’ve seen the twinkle in your eye as you watch one of us at work or at play and even sometimes the mischief as you present a challenge to see how it will be handled. We know that we are a part of you and that you love each and every one of us. I am so very proud to be an Albertson and to share your accomplishments with your grandchildren. Your legacy will live on in our minds and hearts for many generations to come. I love you Pops!
