Awards and recognition for his work include the Samuel Arnold Greely Award of the American Society of Civil Engineers (1996); The American Academy of Environmental Engineers, Kappe Lecture Award (1997); and the prestigious Thomas R. Camp Medal from the Water Environment Federation in 2008.
