Orrie...How proud I am to have you as my brother! You set the bar for the family (did you have to set it so darn high?), whether it be sports, smarts, success, family values or anything else you touched. You were my inspiration. I never tired of bragging about my brother Orrie. Your contributions to mankind and this earth are huge as observed by your many collegues. I have been thinking Orrie, of how Mom and Dad placed such high value on hard work and education and how proud they were of your education accomplishments. Had they lived to witness your professional accomplishments, they would have busted buttons. As a younger sister, I have stories to to tell, as I remember them with fondness now. The knuckle jabs, the basketball practice in the hay barn after the work was done, the fishing trip from hell, among many others. But what I remember most is your kindness and generosity expressed in so many ways, such as visiting me everyday in the hospital after a broken leg caused by a toboggan accident or, as recently as last week, when you worried about whether I was okay. I especially appreciated the encouragment, support and advice you gave me in my education and career pursuits. The only regret I have is that our busy lives kept us from seeing each other as often as we would have liked. I can't leave out the importance you placed on our Irish heritage in connecting with our Liverpool family and your love of Irish Music. To close, I propose the following toast to you, my brother: May the Irish hills caress you May her lakes and rivers bless you May the luck of the Irish enfold you May the Blessing of St Patrick behold you. May your heart be warm and happy With the lilt of Irish laughter Everyday and every way And forever and ever after. I love you Orrie......Pat
